江苏溧阳人。上海特聘专家,澳大利亚昆士兰大学荣誉教授,苏黎世瑞士联邦理工学院及哈佛大学访问教授。入选上海浦江人才计划。先后从合肥工业大学、中国科学与技术大学及北京大学获得学士、硕士及博士学位。1988年~1999年在河南省化学研究所从事高分子材料研发工作。1998年晋升研究员。1999年9月~ 2002年9月在德国塑料研究所及柏林自由大学从事博士后研究及研究生教学工作,2002年10月-2005年7月在郑州大学任特聘教授。2005年7月到2009年12月在苏黎士瑞士联邦理工学院任资深研究员。2009年底回国到上海大学任教。主持完成三十余项科研项目及课题,包括国家自然科学基金重点和面上项目、国家“八五”重点科技攻关项目、瑞士国家自然科学基金项目、苏黎士瑞士联邦理工学院资助课题、河南省重大科技攻关项目等。科研成果获省部级科技进步二等奖四项、三等奖多项。授权国家发明专利三十余项。在包括Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Commun., Chem. Eur. J., JACSMacromolecules国际著名刊物上发表学术论文及出版专著一百五十余篇(部)。现主要从事仿生智能高分子材料等方面的研究工作。
